I could not get to the Bob Dole speech with the link but I went to cspan's website and typed in Bob Dole in the search and came up with his speech. If you go about 28 minutes into the taped session, you will be just about where he starts to talk about Matt. Way to go Matt! The speech is a tribute to your hard work and also to the soldiers who are with you and to all those who need our help long term. Wish I could be in KC for your parade but I am sure there will be others! Miss you. Love and prayers, marta

We had the privilege to meet Sgt. Matt and his wonderful family as we lined up for the Parade of Heroes this evening as well as for dinner and drinks afterwards. I am very impressed with not only this man's courage in war, but also his attitude about everything in general. My son (who celebrated his thirteenth birthday today) told me he had met a 'true american hero' and I can surely agree with that. Thanx for serving us and our country and for being an inspiration to us all. Heinz Rodgers, Mayor, city of Edwardsville, KS.
