Unbridled Generousity!

Matt and Tessa have been the recipients of many gifts and contributions. We simply cannot acknowledge everyone! However, there are a few people and organizations who need to be publicly thanked...General Larry Kay, Deputy Director of the Missouri Veterans Commission and Pat Kerr, State Veterans Ombudsman/ Operation Outreach of the Missouri Veterans Commission, Senator Bob Dole, Co-Chair of the Commission on Care for Returning Wounded Warriors, Reserve Aid and Soldier's Angels. These people and organizations have gone out of their way to provide for Matt and his family. We cannot thank you enough!

We also need to acknowledge with gratitude the manner in which the military is providing care for Matt. He truly is being given the best treatment available. His doctors, nurses, therapists and other assistants and case workers have given him the best of care.

SSGT. Matt,

I glad to hear that you are being well taken care of by the military as well as other grateful Americans.
No one deserves this kind of care more than the brave people who are willing to risk their lives for others' freedom.

Thank you for your service and your continued courage and example.

Humor for today:

My husband placed a perfectly good set of used tires outside his gagage with a sign that read "Free." After a few weeks with no takers, he changed the sign to "$20."

The next day they were gone.

Hi Soldier,

I'm so happy to know of your progress, Matt. I am just sure that Someone great is in your corner, what with your courage, spirit, and positive attitude, backed up by wonderful family, comrades, and friends. It must cause you to reflect, at times, on the wonderful gifts you have been given and continue to receive. Just think about it. First of all, not many of us get the opportunity to sacrifice for others in such a meaningful way. Nobody can ever take this away from you. Secondly, you and your fellow soldiers in that Humvee have a bond that will endure for the rest of your lives, no matter where you may be. Finally, you have your wonderful wife, family, and friends for love and support. My friend, there are many who envy you.

I look forward to learning of your progress.

With Highest Regard,

Robert

Dear Matt and family,

I heard about your story through Michael Blaes, the brother of Lisa Blaes. I went to law school with Michael.

I am so moved by the spirit found in your blog. I am also glad to hear good news about your path towards recovery. I mentioned your story to our church, Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Lansdale, PA. We are a multi-ethnic presbyterian church that is predominantly Korean-American.

Our church has you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. We pray that you return to a normal - no, an extraordinary life with you and your family.

I will update our church on your progress. Thanks for sharing your story.

God bless.

Hello SGT Lammers,
Just wanted to let you know that I think you are and always will be the best Soldier that I had the priviledge to of served with. I never once heard you gripe or complain, you only made Soldiers around you better Soldiers. You've always led from the front and everyone can say that about you.
Thanks for your leadership. I admire your family so much, because they truly love you and we do too! Stay strong and GOD speed.
Your friend, SFC Reed

Hi Matt and Tessa, just thinking about you all tonight and hoping all is well this weekend. Let us know how you are doing with the van.

Our soldier Capt Kate Numerick made it home to Ft. Riley a couple days ago so we had lots of hugs and kisses!

Look forward to talking with you soon! Best wishes, Pat K
