Matt's Homecoming

Matt’s bags have been packed and he is scheduled to make the flight back to the United States on Friday. He will be flown in a medical-airplane that has beds and operates just like a hospital, but with wings! His wife and parents are being flown to San Antonio courtesy the Army to meet him. Please be praying for safe travel for all.

To leave Matt a message, click on the link below that shows how many comments have been made. You will be able to view all the messages and leave one of your own. Thank you!

Matt,

I am humbled and moved beyond measure when I hear stories of brave and courageous Americans like you. I shared this thought with David L-M: Christ taught us that there is no greater love than to offer your life for someone. Thank you for loving us, your countrymen, so much that you would offer your body for us. There is nothing I could ever do to demonstrate my sincere appreciation on behalf of my family and this proud nation. So I will simply ask God to bless your service and sacrifice by forever surrounding you with the same depth of love that you have displayed toward us.

God bless you and your family.

Dear Matt,

I hope I can bring a smile to your face of a very fond memory I have with you in it. Do you remember when I went camping with you and your dad at the river? You were little and we shared a tent. You talked all thru the night in your sleep! You and your family are such an important part of who I am today. I remember meeting you when you came home from Korea. what a fatty you were! There were many of us in the house that night, we all wanted to hold you and kiss you. It was so fun and exciting. Just think of us all holding and kissing you now, and we are all here for you in thoughts and prayers as you continue in the process of healing. I am thankful for the sacrifices you and all of those serving in our armed forces have made for us and those around the world who don't have the freedoms we take for granted on American soil. We love you, remember those hugs and kisses coming your way.

Love, Leanne Rost

Dear Matt,

By the grace of God, you are still with us, and we are thankful. You have stepped forward into the ranks of those who have given so much for our great country. I believe your sacrifice will give great meaning to you and your family and friends for the rest of your lives. My only regret is that I couldn't serve in this war with you. You have my greatest admiration, and I look forward to seeing you physically and mentally fit and sitting down for a good visit.

Sincerely,

Dear Matt,
One day this school year, your dad walked into my clasroom at HTS as we were saying our morning prayers. He added to our intercessions that it was your birthday, so he joined us in saying a special prayer for you on that day follwed by the Pledge of Alligence. He is very proud of you, as well as the rest of your family and your extended family at HTS. We will continue to pray for your wounds to heal and for God to watch over you through the days ahead. Thank you for all that you have done for my family and the USA,

Matt,

We were forwarded an email from my dad who had recieved it from friends at westside requesting prayer for you, your family, and your upcoming surgeries. He sent it to us because we too are in currently in the army (i say we, i mean, my husband...but sometimes it feels like we both are. :)). My husband is currently in 1AD, 2BCT 2-6 IN and we are stationed in Baumholder, Germany. We just want you to know that we are praying for you and your family and are so thankful that your surgeries have been going well and, most importantly, that you are ALIVE! Tessa, if you are reading this, from one army wife to another, i am praying for strength, courage and peace for you, sister!!

Blessings Lammers family!!

Sgt. Matt,

God often looks at our 'project plan' and laughs as He plugs us into His. You answered a call to service, not knowing the details of His plan. Wow! How many are inspired by your faithful service, your positive attitude, and your love of God and country? Very Many.

Thursday's Peace Rosary at Holy Trinity had to be moved from the Old Stone Chapel to the main Church because of the vast number of people coming to pray for peace, and for you.

May all medical procedures succeed, all care providers be blessed abundantly, and all our military servants be graced as you are graced, with "...faith, hope and love...and the greatest of these is love." Thank you!

God Bless and keep you smiling,

Carmela & Harry McAleavy and Family
